Meet Our Expert Instructors

Our team is made up of experienced firearms instructors who have served in law enforcement, the military, or both. They are dedicated to providing the best instruction and sharing their knowledge with all students.

Craig Bard

Craig joined our team in August 2023. He brings extensive experience from a 31-year career in government service, including roles in federal and local law enforcement and the military.

  • Working with All Skill Levels: Craig has a versatile approach that makes him effective with any student. He especially enjoys working with new shooters, helping them become confident through a systematic understanding of shooting mechanics.
  • Teaching Philosophy: His focus is to build confidence through mastering the fundamentals of weapon handling and marksmanship. He can improve your skills with a pistol, rifle, or shotgun by focusing on core concepts like grip, aim, and mental focus.
  • A Wealth of Experience: Before joining our team, Craig spent 25 years with the Department of Homeland Security as a Field Agent, instructor, and supervisor. He also served as a Police Officer and a United States Marine. His diverse background gives him the unique ability to work with anyone, from beginners to experts.

Stephen Heaney

Stephen has been dedicated to firearms and training since 1983. He brings over three decades of experience from his distinguished career in federal law enforcement and tactical teams.

Stephen's Philosophy

Stephen’s training approach is rooted in safety, patience, and a positive attitude. He believes a solid foundation built with these principles is essential for all shooters, regardless of their skill level.

Extensive Law Enforcement Career

Stephen's journey began with the United States Capitol Police (USCP) in 1986, where he served on their tactical team, C.E.R.T., and worked as a certified counter-sniper.

  • Elite FBI Service In 1991, Stephen joined the FBI, where he served for over 25 years. During his tenure, he was a certified SWAT operator, team leader, and tactical and firearms instructor, training hundreds of agents.
  • Sharing Knowledge Since retiring from the FBI, he has continued his passion for training. Stephen now has the privilege of instructing a variety of people, from retired law enforcement officers to new civilian shooters.
